Halona Beach Cove, also known as the famous Eternity beach, can be found on the east side on the island of Oahu, Hawaii near Halona Lookout. It was named after being featured in Academy Award winning movie “From here to eternity,” filmed in 1953. So, if you are a fan of old movies, definitely stop by and give this beach a look! Its natural beauty and ambiance is a sight for sore eyes as words and photos just don’t do it any justice.
Eternity beach can be accessed on the west side of Halona/Blowhole lookout and is a short walk down from the Halona parking lot. While the parking lot and the view from it is wheelchair accessible, please note that the path down is not and can be difficult to manage for people over the age of 65. There is also no lifeguard on duty so stay in the shallow areas and be cautious about jumping off the rocks.
As far as destination weddings go, this is a wonderful hidden gem that not too many people venture to. It’s one of my favorite locations for photography! Your wedding photos will be sure to get a lot of Oooos and Aahhhss as the sky is majestically blue, the ocean is a dark jewel green, and the rocks behind you make everything look surreal from right out of a movie.
Recently, I had the honor to photograph David and Samantha’s wedding. Everyone arrived and we started the careful and slow walk down to the ceremony site at about 5:30pm (the perfect time for photos). The colors of the sky and ocean complimented the dusty pink and royal blue colors of the bride and groom’s family, not to mention; Samantha looked stunning in her beautiful white lace wedding dress!
A close family friend officiated their ceremony as they read their promises to one another and everyone shared in this heartfelt moment together as they sealed their vows with a kiss!
