Riverside Romance: Jen and Jason's Enchanting Haiku Garden Wedding, Captured by Jolene Kaneshige Photography

Love found its perfect canvas amidst the breathtaking scenery of Haiku Garden nestled in the heart of Kaneohe on the east side of the island of Oahu, Hawaii. This hidden gem sits beneath Haleiwa Joes restaurant and features a tropical garden with a magical gazebo and a stream running gracefully beneath it. It sounds too good to be true doesn’t it? Let me tell you it is as if you were transported into a magical fairy world with just a short 5 minute walk. No chasing white rabbits or falling down rabbit holes! That’s Kaneohe for you!

Surrounded by tropical flowers and nature Jen and Jason couldn’t have picked a more romantic spot for their destination wedding and reception! It was a small heart felt ceremony where they were surrounded by their close friends and family. They said their vows pledging their love and commitment to each other and promised to stand together through all of life’s adventures. It was such a tear jerking moment when both Jen and Jason said “I do.” After they kissed their friends and family cheered as they welcomed the newly weds back down the aisle.

We continued to take some wonderful couples portraits after the wedding. Being a wedding photographer in Hawaii for over 10 years I can tell you that this is truly a timeless spot to capture your surprise proposal, engagement, and even wedding photos. There are so many areas around the garden that are picturesque and full of rich colors. The topical flowers especially are stunning when they are in full bloom and we can’t forget about the gazebo over the water which is the crown jewel of this hidden Hawaii location.

The best part is that friends and family were able to head up to Haleiwa Joes to enjoy cocktails while Jen and Jason continued to take post wedding portraits with me! When we were done they headed up to the restaurants and were greeted with toasts, laughter, and able to continue their celebration of love well into the evening.

Destination weddings in Hawaii are truly a unique experience. There is so much natural beauty, cultural richness, and romance in the air making it truly memorable.
