Secret Proposal at Magic Island, Ala Moana Beach Park - Oahu
The island of Oahu is home to many of the most popular attractions in Hawaii. Known as “The gathering place,” there is something for everyone from a melting pot of cultural enrichment, food, fun activities, the beach, stunning landscapes, rural country roads, but most importantly beautiful outdoor venues that are perfect for a photo adventure, surprise engagement, destination wedding, or fabulous wedding portraits.
You’ve probably read about it and seen in magazines so I’m really excited to give you the inside scoop from a local photographer’s point of view!
Magic Island Lagoon also known as Ala Moana Beach Park is a manmade peninsula located on the west end of Waikiki and right across Ala Moana Shopping Center. This location is highly accessible and easy to get to. It offers beautiful views of the harbor, the iconic Diamond Head, beautiful beach lagoon and beach, and stunning views of the Honolulu city scape. This is also the best spot in Honolulu for sunset photos or a sunrise photo session (the sunrises over Diamond Head).
Oleg and Lilia enjoyed a beautiful surprise engagement proposal session. Oleg proposed at approximately 5:30pm which is the perfect time to capture those epic sunset photos!
*NOTE: If you want those impressive sunset photos, I really can’t stress enough how important timing is! The sunsets relatively quickly and we have just a small 10 minute window to make the magic happen!
