Keith and Julia's Magical Sunset Proposal at Kahanamoku Beach

Here’s a heartwarming tale of a love story that unfolded on the shores of Waikiki beach. 

Keith contacted us a few weeks out from his big day!  He didn’t want an extravagant proposal, rather just something simple on a beach with the sunset in the background.  Both him and his partner, Julia had never been to Oahu, so he had a lot of questions about the best location, especially a spot with parking that is easily accessible.

If you’ve ever had to park in Waikiki, let me tell you…it can be a nightmare!  Locals don’t really make the trip out to Waikiki very often because traffic and parking is such an issue, but we have our favorite go to spots.

Once Keith told us his vision we got straight to work and made a plan that was both accommodating with his time table and easily accessible by car.  Our boss lady ninja photographer, Jolene was on the job.  We sent Keith the plan and a detailed lowdown of his proposal with some awesome pro tips!

On the big day Keith was in contact with Jolene via text and they were able to time everything beautifully so that his proposal would go off without a hitch! Keith arrived on location wearing a light blue collared shirt and khaki pants and Julia wore a dark blue dress with a jeans jacket.  They both looked so cute together and their style complimented each other perfectly.  

Keith took Julia by the hand and they walked along the shore of Waikiki’s Kahanamoku beach. The sky was blue and the sound of waves gently lapped against the shore.  His heart was racing and his nerves were tingling.  This was the magical moment he was waiting for.  He took Julia's hand in his and gazed into her eyes, with a trembling voice and a heart full of love, he poured out his feelings, expressing his deepest desires, and dreams for their future together.  Then he got down on one knee and asked Julia “Will you marry me?” Julia was so touched and excited by his proposal, tears glistened in her eyes as she hugged Keith and sealed the promise of their love with a kiss, of course she said “YES!” 

Meanwhile Jolene was a total paparazzi photographer and was able to capture wonderful heartfelt moments between Keith and Julia while being a distance away. When Keith unveiled that everything was captured on camera Julia was so impressed! Then to kick start the next chapter of their love story Jolene did what she does best and took them on a grand photo tour to commemorate their love in Hawaii.  You really don’t need to be a model, she’s an award winning portrait photographer and knows all the best poses!  

They continued to take more photos until the sunset filled the sky with hues of orange and pink kissing Hawaii's blue ocean.  So here's to Keith and Julia, and to a special proposal on the shores of Oahu, Hawaii!  May your days be filled with sunshine, your nights with starlight, and your hearts be forever intertwined.
