Strings of Love: Gaurav and Kristin's White Rock Beach Serenade
Hey there Hawaii proposal enthusiasts! Are you ready for another epic love story that is as radiant as a Hawaiian sunset?! We are going to dish about this heartwarming topical love story set on the island of Maui.
Let’s set the scene: Gaurav, the charming anesthesiologist from Canada, and Kristin, the brilliant attending physician, first crossed paths in the operating room. Talk about a real-life Grey's Anatomy moment! Sparks flew faster than you could say "pass the scalpel," and before they knew it, they were head over heels for each other.
Gaurav reached out to Jolene Kaneshige Photography to capture his magical proposal moment based on his colleague, Sean’s recommendation. You see, Jolene had previously photographed Sean's own heart-stopping jaw dropping proposal during a majestic sunrise on the island of Oahu. Love has such an amazing domino effect and we were so excited to help Gaurav plan his Maui Proposal!
Leading up to the surprise proposal Gaurav plotted and schemed in secret for months! He was so determined to make this vacation totally unforgettable and let me tell you, it definitely was one for the books! Little did Kristin know, he started taking guitar and voice lessons in secret. Meanwhile Jolene and her team of proposal ninjas went on a scouting mission to find the most picture-perfect beach in Maui for Gaurav's grand romantic gesture.
Now let’s fast forward to the big day! Our location was White Rock Beach on the island of Maui. This beach is slightly off the beaten path in Wailea nearby resort central. It's got island peninsula vibes with beautiful white sands, swaying palm trees, and an ooouuu so vibrant sunset that kisses the ocean right in front of you. Here's where Jolene truly shines, not only did she capture every fleeting moment of Gaurav and Kristin's love story, but she also went above and beyond to set the stage for Gaurav's big moment. Picture this: a pristine white towel laid out on the sand with rose petals, a rented guitar standing ready, and two cozy chairs awaiting the lovebirds. It was like something straight out of a romance movie!
Precisely 1 hour before sunset, during golden hour, Gaurav and Kristin arrived walking hand in hand to our designated spot. Gaurav took his time as he made sure Kristin was seated comfortably and he picked up the guitar to serenade her with a few of her favorite songs. Kristin is a big swifty so there was at least 1 song in the mix that paid homage to Taylor Swift flavored with his own choice of words. Let me tell you, he totally owned it! There was fire in his eyes as he was on a mission to win the heart of the love of his life. He had a ring in one hand and a guitar in the other as he got down on one knee and asked “Will you marry me?” Kristin was impressed by his performance and so surprised! She clapped, cheered, and said “Yes!” As they hugged, kissed, and even sealed their promise with a secret handshake! Wait what? Yes, a secret handshake! Isn’t that awesome?!
The magic of a surprise proposal in Hawaii doesn’t just stop there! Jolene, being the photography wizard that she is, captured epic portraits to commemorate Gaurav and Kristin's big moment. These photos will serve as timeless reminders of the love they share and the promise they made in paradise.
As if that wasn't enough, Gaurav and Kristin also exchanged leis as a Hawaiian gesture, symbolizing their commitment to each other and their promise to cherish the memories they made in Maui for many years to come.
